Kayla Simon

Head Coach

When I got asked the question “Do you accept the position as head coach for the MHS Cheerleading program? OF COURSE, YES, I WOULD BE HONORED” (in the exact excitement that the capital letters show). With this acceptance I automatically fell into a role that brings out some personality traits that I believe are my best ones: Bold, Cheerful, Dedicated, Confident, Energetic, Compassionate. All traits that a good cheerleader should have … but also a good coach! I believe building relationships with these young athletes on and off the mat is the key to their success; while also helping shape them into individuals that will succeed after highschool!

As a parent you are entrusting me with your child; and I am thankful for the opportunity. My promise to you is that, by being a part of this program your athlete will gain the confidence and skills that not only will help them on my team but that they will carry with them after this sport [that we all love] comes to an end.

A little bit about myself...:

- I am a Montville High School Graduate - Class of 2011 and was a cheerleader/junior coach in the Montville Cheer Program for over 12 years.
- I was able to serve as Varsity Captain my Junior and Senior year as well as earn ECC Champonships in the Medium Division in 2010 and 2011.
- I attended Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC where I was an active member in the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority on campus and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a focus in Health Care Marketing.
- I currently reside in Colchester, CT with my S/O but do not be fooled - I am in “The Ville” probably half of my day.
- I am an active volunteer within the Montville Youth Football League serving as Treasurer on the Executive Board as well as Coaching at the Junior Cheer Level.
- I currently work full time for a Wealth Management firm in South Glastonbury serving as their Director of Client Relations.
- As you can tell I love to stay BUSY so.. I am an active Alpha Delta Pi Alumni volunteer as a Financial Advisor for the Eta Omicron chapter at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.
- I LOVE to read, shop, spend time with family and friends, travel to wherever my next girlfriend is having a wedding, and beach it in the summer!
